Lead with outcomes, not duties. "Reduced API latency by 40%" beats "Responsible for API performance." Every bullet should answer "so what?"
Quantify everything. Numbers survive the 7-second scan. Team sizes, percentages, dollar amounts, user counts, and time saved all make claims concrete and credible.
Mirror the job description. ATS systems boost resumes that match keywords from the posting. Read the job ad, pull out technical terms and responsibilities, then weave them naturally into your bullets.
Use strong verbs. "Led," "shipped," "architected," "reduced," "launched," "mentored." Avoid "helped," "worked on," and "participated in."
